It has become increasingly apparent to me how the world desperately needs people who are willing to be compassionate towards those who are hurting.

Hurting people hurt people, as the saying goes.

And yet, which of us aren’t hurting in some way?

I’m constantly reminded that so much of the how and why of what we do stem from deep places of loss and grief we experience at a young age. So many of us carry the weight of this into our lives. It taints our relationships and interactions, and clouds our ability to love, be spacious, and be free in our expression.

All too often the parts of us that desire to speak the most are pure and innocent. The innocent aspects of us that never fully understands why its needs aren’t met, only that they feel something is missing and sense the empty spaces yearning to be filled.

All too often we bring our younger selves, unresolved and uncertain, into the office, social groups, and closest relationships.

How do we heal these deep wounds?

The wounds that ironically drive many of us towards endeavors that are beautiful…
