I am one of those men.

I’m one of those men who seems like they have it together, but barely does most days.

I’m one of those men who is doing their best with what they have, and what they’ve been given.

I’m one of those men.

While I’m not all men, I am still one of them.

I’m one of those men who is often confused.

I’m one of those whose eyes are opened to the inadequecies of a system built to disempower us.

I’m one of those men who wants to do better, but doesn’t always know how, or the way.

I’m still, one of those men.

One of those men, whose been broken, beaten, and battered in silence

and still believes we’re here to love and be, to dance, to sing, to roll around in the dirt.

Those men who grapple with their beasts and shadows in lonely caves, and don’t always win.

Men who live with both despair and beauty in a chaotic world.

I’m also one of those men.

I’m one of those men who wants their head stroked, body held, and cries heard.

I am one of those men, those men who long for the stars while laying in imperfect beds here on the ground.

Those men, who seek the love of hearts with earnest and zeal, while still learning to tend the depths of their own.

I’m one of those men.

I’m one of those men whose words at times seem lacking, whose actions feel false, whose good intentions never seem quite good enough.

I’m of those who dares with a laugh, reaches with resolve, and falls from and with grace.

One of those who rises again and again, tired, weary, and hopeful.

I am one of those men…

And there are many of us.

💜
